Upload documents, images, audio and video recordings, Markdown, and ZIP archives, or import a GitHub repository. Configured instances also offer Google Drive, Slack, GitHub, and optional read-only Gmail connections. Notion exports can be uploaded as files; an export import does not continuously sync with the original app.
The software is free and open source under the Apache 2.0 license. You can self-host it with your own API keys. Your hosting, storage, and model providers may charge for their services, so your running costs depend on your setup and usage.
Yes. When you self-host, your documents and workspace data live on infrastructure you control. AI requests go to the providers you configure. You choose those providers and their data policies, and can inspect the source code for how data is handled.
